Because who else would think to try and shove a 289 in this thing?!?!

I introduce to you the Sunbeam Tiger.

From Wikipedia: "The Sunbeam Tiger is a high-performance !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! version of the British !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! 's !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , designed in part by American car designer and racing driver !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and produced from 1964 until 1967. Shelby had carried out a similar V8 conversion on the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and hoped to be offered the contract to produce the Tiger at his facility in America. Rootes decided instead to contract the assembly work to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in England, and pay Shelby a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on every car produced.

Two major versions of the Tiger were built: the Series I (1964–67) was fitted with the 260 cu in (4.3 L) !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ; the Series II, of which only 633 were built in the final year of Tiger production, was fitted with the larger Ford 289 cu in (4.7 L) engine. Two !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and extensively modified versions of the Series I competed in the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but neither completed the race. Rootes also entered the Tiger in European !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! with some success, and for two years it was the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! 's national record holder over a quarter-mile !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ."

Well, he did shove increasingly large engines into this...

Kinja'd!!!

Though, by the time he was finished, the bodywork had grown to include some rippling muscley lines.

He's no more crazy than any of us, he just actually had the means to put the ides into action haha. I'm pretty sure if they're if they're was an oppo automotive company we'd have some awesome fucking cars

I feel like the 60's Muscle Car era was just a displacement pissing contest fueled by latenight drunken bets made in a garage full of small cars and engine parts. And I wish I could've been part of it.

Shelby was no more nuts than Sidney Allard, who was shoehorning Ford and Cadillac V8s into sports cars back in the 50s.

Those old allards were awesome. If I'm gonna get a car from that era though, I'm getting a Cunningham C4/R

The 50s and 60s would've been amazing to be a part of as an auto enthusiast with the one caveat being the somewhat frequent level of death
